Artists, passion & money

Every dance teacher I met in the Lindy szene that I asked about how they get along said more or less something like "You have to love it! As you don´t get rich doing it and you are away from home a lot and last but not least get older" The same applies to other artists, like musicians. They might enjoy they´re freedom on one side but have to live with uncertainties on the other. On top they are travelling a lot, often on the weekends what makes family and friends life a challenge. Most manage themselves alone and support different side projects. But why do I write this? It´s because I think we should notice the efforts that maybe are not obvious to all of us. If you put yourself in other peoples shoes you can try seeing both sides of the medal and maybe understand for example workshop or concert fee descisions better. I think artists deserve to get payed well! I think they deserve aknowledgement moneywise. Especially those who are not going through hardship, please consider supporting your szene by buying tickets to a concert, a class, a show, workshop etc. Artists are putting precious life time and a message into their work and I want them to be heard, seen and aknowledged accordingly. By taking part in this event you actively support the cultural program of the region and my dream to add value to my hometown especially for those who can not travel as much as others.  I´m aplying for a cultural support program but it takes time. Maybe we will manage to have more events like this with a little help from the government or european union in the future. I´ll do my best! Thanks for reading :)
